Redmi Pad Starts Getting HyperOS Update in China
Xiaomi has started rolling out the latest HyperOS updates for the Redmi Pad in China. This update brings the device up to HyperOS 1.0.2.0.ULYCNXM is based on Android 14.
The Redmi Pad was launched in August 2022 with MIUI 13 based on Android 12 out of the box. Receiving an update to HyperOS based on Android 14 is a major upgrade for the tablet. HyperOS is Xiaomi’s optimized operating system designed to provide a smooth experience on devices.
Some of the key changes the Redmi Pad gets with this new HyperOS update include:
- Latest Android 14 features like improved privacy controls, language settings, and accessibility options
- Faster system animations and overall improved system optimization for quicker performance
- New HyperOS wallpapers, themes, and dynamic effects exclusive to the operating system
- Latest December 2023 Android security patch for enhanced system security
- Optimized essential apps like File Manager, Gallery, Music and more
- Improved one-handed mode, multi-window support, and other tablet-focused features
The update is currently rolling out incrementally to select Redmi Pad users in China who are part of the beta testing program. A wider rollout will likely happen over the next few weeks.
Users can manually check for the update by going to Settings > About Phone > Tap on the MIUI version > Check for updates. The update will be around 4.5GB in size and it is recommended to install it while connected to a strong WiFi network.
This HyperOS update will help the Redmi Pad deliver an even smoother user experience. It takes full advantage of the latest Android 14 features while adding HyperOS customizations. Users in other regions like India can expect to receive similar updates in the future.
