Xiaomi’s HyperOS operating system is now rolling out to Global devices and the tech brand has finally changed the Bootloader Unlocking rules with the introduction of HyperOS for global devices. You need to know everything about Xiaomi’s bootloader unlocking rules after updating to HyperOS update.

Xiaomi unveiled HyperOS in China along with the Xiaomi 14 Series and a few days later, they decided to change the Bootloader Unlocking rules in China region. There are several steps to unlock the bootloader of any Xiaomi phone in the China region. Still, yesterday the tech giant announced new rules to unlock the bootloader for global devices as well.

Xiaomi’s HyperOS is now rolling out for these 5 smartphones and the stable update should arrive in early 2024 after that users have to follow some extra steps to unlock their bootloader.

Xiaomi mentioned in the Mi Community Global, To ensure a safe and stable experience for our users, the bootloader unlocking permission will only be available to certain users after upgrading to Xiaomi HyperOS. However, unlocking the bootloader may compromise the security of the devices running Xiaomi HyperOS and lead to data leakage. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and thank you for your understanding and support“.

The unlocking rules are as follows:

Regular users: It is highly recommended to leave the bootloader locked (default state) and not unlock it.

Enthusiasts: Enthusiasts who wish to customize their phones and are fully aware of the risks associated with unlocking devices, can apply for unlocking permission through the Xiaomi Community.
