Android 14 Beta 3 is Now Live, The Big Changes Update

Finally, the tech giant has released the latest Android 14 Beta 3 update for Pixel devices, and this time Google introduced super cool big changes which you should definitely know about.

Google has released the latest and fresh version of the upcoming Android 14 update based on Beta 3 and with that Android 14 has reached the platform stability. This means that all of the system’s APIs and app-facing behavior have been finalized. Developers can now publish new builds of their apps targeting SDK34 on Google Play.

With the latest Android 14 Beta 3 update for Pixel devices, Google fixed 17 known bugs and 6 known bugs are still present in the beta 3 update and will be fixed in the upcoming updates. Android 14 Beta 3 comes with May 2023 Android security patch level and now Pixel 7a is also eligible for this beta update.

LockScreen Customizations:

With the latest Android 14 Beta 3 update, Google brings super cool lock screen customization for the first time on Pixel devices with the redesigned wallpaper & styles app. Here’s how it works

  • Holding down on the lock screen will bring up the “Customize lock screen” button at the bottom.
  • Wallpaper and style are now divided into Locked Screen and Home Screen settings.
  • There are 9 clock options to choose from, each adapted to the AOD. You can also choose their color and brightness, as well as whether they are dynamically sized or small (in a single line on the top left).
  • Available lock screen shortcuts include None, Do not disturb, QR code scanner, Smart home control, Silent, Camera, and Flashlight.
  • A selection of lock screen shortcut options is also available in the locked screen system settings.

New Charging Connection Effect in StatusBar:

Android 14 Beta 3 brings a new pop-up chip in the battery icon and percentage of charge when you connect your charger. This chip looks very similar to privacy indicators. This small-sized chip pops up for a very short time after connecting the charger. Here’s the demo of how it works.

Tap to Open Clock App Directly From Quick Settings:

Now whenever you will tap on the clock present in quick settings, it will instantly open the clock app. Previously this feature was available in Android 12 and users were asking to add the same feature for Android 14 updates and see it’s present in the latest Android 14 Beta 3 Update for Pixel devices.
