This feature will require your email address verification which will add an extra layer of security to your WhatsApp account in future. Before moving ahead, let’s learn how this feature will work in WhatsApp.
WhatsApp is working on new security-related features for quite some time and now with the new beta version released for beta testers, WhatsApp added a new method by which you can add an extra layer of security. WhatsApp will ask for your email address in order to protect and verify your account. Since this feature is currently in development, there is no available information about the specific situations in which the email address will be useful to enhance the security of our WhatsApp accounts.
Since this update is released only for beta testers as of now, this new feature will be added to the stable version of WhatsApp in the near future.
