
WhatsApp has started rolling out the Channel Username feature in the latest WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.23.24.17 version. It means now a channel owner can create a channel using their username and this will be advantageous in many ways which we are going to discuss here. Meta-owned WhatsApp is now thinking of adding the support of username for WhatsApp Channels and this username feature is already available on Telegram and YouTube also implemented this feature a few months ago. You can also call it a handle. This feature will allow users to easily search the Channels by just typing the username. A specific username will be beneficial for Channel owners in different ways. Channel owners can create a personalized channel link based on their username.

Moreover, WhatsApp is thinking of replacing the green verification badge with a blue checkmark for verified channels. The introduction of a channel username will eliminate the need for complex channel links.
