WhatsApp is now improving its Locked Chats with a new secret code feature which is currently available on WhatsApp beta for Android. A user can hide his/her personal or sensitive information through the Locked Chats features and WhatsApp is now making it more secure by adding secret code. Here are all the details regarding the new feature.
WhatsApp Secret code for Locked Chats
WhatsApp is testing a new feature called Secret code in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.21.9 available on the Google Play Store. This new feature ensures that other people can’t access your personal information from Locked Chats as you can set up a secret code to view your locked chats on WhatsApp. The new secret code feature will block the entry point to the Locked Chats from now onwards. Locked chats can be accessed by entering the correct PIN after setting up the secret code.

The Secret Code feature will be available under chat lock settings and you can easily configure it here. This feature will add an extra layer of security to protect your personal or sensitive information under locked chats. A secret code will be required to access your locked chats after configuring the setup as it will block the entry point. It’s also important to note that some beta testers may also be able to get another feature that allows them to quickly clear the list of their locked chats right within their privacy settings. This feature is designed in case a user forgets their secret code and encounters difficulty accessing their locked chats.
The secret code feature is only available on WhatsApp beta for Android to a few beta testers and will be rolled out to the public over the next weeks.
