Carl Pei Confirms Nothing Phone (2) Will have Snapdragon 8 Series Chipset, Check Specifications
Carl Pei, CEO of Nothing has announced that the upcoming Nothing Phone (2) will use the Snapdragon 8 Series chipset, a premium-tier powerhouse Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 and this will be a clear upgrade over Nothing Phone (1).
How Powerful is Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1?
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is a high-end SoC for smartphones that was launched in mid-2022, a 4nm technology by TSMC. Carl Pei also confirms that Nothing Phone (2) can show better app opening (2x better than Nothing Phone (1) ) with an impressive 80% overall performance boost.
With the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, Nothing Phone (2) will have better battery backup, network connectivity, and camera capabilities than other phones and this will be a complete package. Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 features an 18-bit image signal processor (ISP) capable of capturing over 4,000 times more camera data than ISP used on Phone (1), along with advanced camera features like Raw HDR and 4K recording at 60 fps.
Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is based on 4nm technology by TSMC as we mentioned earlier, thermals with this process will produce less heat than the previous snapdragon chipsets manufactured by Samsung, it directly improves the battery consumption on Nothing Phone (2).
