Xiaomi to Shut Down Bootloader Unlocking – Leaks

Again, we have a leak that Xiaomi is shutting down the bootloader unlocking process after HyperOS on Xiaomi devices.

Bootloader unlocking is a very important aspect of modifying your operating system and getting system-level access as this is the first step to exploring your device’s capabilities. Users can enjoy various custom ROMs on their devices after unlocking the bootloader and tweak them according to their preferences. On the other hand, a bootloader requires some basic knowledge to proceed further as it may brick your device while unlocking or installing any custom recovery or ROMs, etc.

A user named Toolazy found the new beta forum of the Bootloader closed beta in the China community. It shows Xiaomi will make the process hard to unlock the bootloader. As for now users receive 168h waiting time which is much less and users can wait until this time to try again. But from HyperOS, Xiaomi can increase the waiting time or stop the unlocking Bootloader permanently in all devices.
