Redmi K70 Series Gets HyperOS 2.1 Update with tons of New Features & System Optimisations
Xiaomi has started rolling out the HyperOS 2.1 update for the Redmi K70 Series in China. This new update brings exciting features, smoother animations, and system optimizations. It’s a refinement of the previous HyperOS 2.0 version and improves the overall user experience.
The update is currently in beta for the Redmi K70 Series, with different firmware versions for each device:

This update introduces several new features and improvements:
- Classic Lock Screen Template: A beautiful new lock screen option to customize your phone.
- Focus Notification for Flashlight: Get notifications when your flashlight is in use.
- Flashlight Brightness Control: Adjust the flashlight’s brightness directly from the control center.
- Enhanced Animations: Improved opening and closing animations for apps, making everything feel smoother and more responsive.
- Grid Options in Launcher Settings: Customize your home screen layout with new grid options.
- XiaoSuper AI Assistant: A smart assistant that uses AI to help you with tasks, find content, and even perform complex operations.
Here’s a closer look at the changelog of this update:
- System Animations: New features let the gesture prompt line move with the app window when opening or closing apps. You can also see multiple app animations simultaneously when opening or closing apps quickly.
- System: A new one-click clipboard clearing feature has been added, along with better logic for displaying the Bluetooth icon.
- Control Center: Now includes a brightness adjustment page for the flashlight and focus notifications when it’s in use.
- Desktop: Users can now access a 4×6 layout option after removing the search box.
- Lock Screen: The new “Classic Scenery” lock screen template has been added for better customization.
- Photo Album: Improvements include better organization, support for natural language searches, and enhanced AI for sorting photos and documents.
Other enhancements include bug fixes, such as resolving issues with recent task responsiveness and album misplacements.
The most exciting addition is XiaoSuper AI, a powerful AI assistant with a fresh visual design. It supports multiple wake-up methods and can understand natural language to help with tasks like finding photos, executing system functions, and even predicting your needs based on habits.
Currently, the HyperOS 2.1 update is available in beta for Redmi K70 Series devices in China. It may take a few days to reach all eligible devices. For global users, many of these features are expected to be included in future HyperOS 2.0 updates.
