Mi 11X Pro gets January 2024 Security Patch with VoNR Support
Xiaomi has started rolling out a new software update for its flagship Mi 11X Pro smartphone in India. The latest MIUI 14.0.5.0.TKKINXM update brings the January 2024 Android security patch along with VoNR (Voice over New Radio) support for Reliance Jio 5G network.
The Mi 11X Pro was launched in April 2021 as a rebranded version of the Redmi K40 Pro phone unveiled in China. It features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset, 48MP triple rear cameras, 20MP selfie camera and 4520mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
Software Updates
The new MIUI 14 update for Mi 11X Pro has firmware version number 14.0.5.0.TKKINXM and is about 3.1GB in size. It brings the latest January 2024 Android security patch to the device which contains fixes for several vulnerabilities found in the Android system.
Installing the latest security update is recommended to safeguard your device against new threats and improve the overall system security.
VoNR Support
Additionally, the update enables support for Voice over New Radio (VoNR) technology on Reliance Jio’s 5G network. VoNR allows high-definition voice calls over a 5G network similar to VoLTE on a 4G network.
With VoNR enabled, users can expect enhanced call quality, quicker call connectivity, high-definition voice and video calling, and faster call setup times on the Jio 5G network.
MIUI 14 Features
The Mi 11X Pro continues to run Android 13-based MIUI 14 software. Key MIUI 14 features include improved fluidity and system animations, new widgets, advanced privacy and security tools, revamped Xiaomi Sans font, and an overall cleaner interface.
The smartphone also gets all the standard Android 13 goodies like improved one-handed mode, media playback controls, notification permission manager, photo picker, and more.
Update Rollout Details
The January 2024 security update with VoNR support is currently rolling out incrementally to Mi 11X Pro users in India. As usual, it is being released randomly to a limited number of devices first.
A broader rollout will begin over the next few days if no critical bugs are found in the initial soak test. Users can manually check for the update by going into Settings > About phone > MIUI version.
Xiaomi is keeping its flagship phones up-to-date with the latest security patches and new features. The regular software support further enhances the value proposition of Mi 11X Pro in the affordable premium segment.
